Description
Summary:Bernardino de Sahagún was in the 16th Century the author of the most complete and extensive work on the language and culture of the prehispanic Nahuas of central Mexico (the Aztecs). Between 1565 and 1570, he was also the author of three interpretative essays on religious beliefs and rituals of ancient Mexicans, each of them increasingly complex. All three, but especially the last one, had a profound impact on the final version of his Historia Universal de la cosas de Nueva España.
