Description
Summary:In November, the voluminous «Report» on the «McCarrick case» was made public. The Report was announced by Pope Francis in response to questions that had arisen regarding what was known in Rome during his ecclesiastical career about the conduct of former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who has now been dismissed not only from the College of Cardinals, but also from the clerical state. This article very concisely presents the findings of the Report and develops some considerations regarding this disconcerting affair. It also attempts to draw from it some important lessons for the path of conversion and purification of the Church and for the ever more effective fight against abuses of sex, power and conscience.
