| Summary: | On November 2, Fr. Bartolomeo Sorge, former director of La Civiltà Cattolica, passed away. We retrace his long journey of intense service to God and the Church. After years of religious formation, he specialized in political and social sciences, Fr. Bartolomeo arrived at La Civiltà Cattolica in 1966. The culminating moment of those years was the Ecclesial Conference of the Italian Church «Evangelization and Human Promotion». Sent to Palermo in 1985 to establish the «Pedro Arrupe Institute of Political Training», he lived intense years on the frontline in the fight against the mafia. In 1986, he moved to Milan, where he directed Social Updates for 13 years. Since 2010, he continued his service, first in Milan and then in Gallarate, in the full presence of the spirit until the day of his death. |
