Description
Summary:This article analyzes the thesis of Margaret Boone Rappaport and Christofer J. Corbally’s book, The Emergence of Religion in Human Evolution, which, for the first time, questions how and when «religious competence» in the evolution of hominids commenced. The study of genetics and neurocognitive sciences helps to recognize how only in the Homo sapiens can this ability be identified. Religious behavior, therefore, appears as a complex biological capacity, which has assisted our species since its origin. In addition, their book permits us to appreciate, in a surprising way, how biology studies can approach theological anthropology in a common vision of God’s creatural gift.
