Summary: | The sacrament of the altar was constantly a topic in Luther's reflection. Since 1524, in his confrontation with the so-called "fanatics" about Christ's real presence in bread and wine, he refused symbolic interpretations such as those proposed by Bodenstein von Karlstadt and Zwingli. The article deals with the years 1527-1528 by analyzing the two most significant texts, especially the Confession concerning Christ's supper. In particular it highlights the Christological horizon as the deep reason of Luther's Eucharistic realism. (English) |
