| Summary: | Le chapitre 8 de l’Apocalypse décrit une offrande d’encens dans le ciel et l’envoi du feu de l’autel sur la terre. Cette liturgie est effectuée par un « ange » dans lequel les commentateurs latins anciens de l’Apocalypse ont reconnu une figure christologique. Un examen attentif conduit à prendre au sérieux l’interprétation christologique de cet « ange » et à mieux apprécier l’articulation entre christologie et pneumatologie dans l’Apocalypse. Chapter 8 of the Book of Revelation describes an offering of incense in heaven and the sending of fire from the altar to the earth. This liturgy is performed by an “angel” in whom the ancient Latin commentators of the Apocalypse recognized a Christological figure. Careful examination leads one to take seriously the Christological interpretation of this «angel» and to better appreciate the distinction between christology and pneumatology in Revelation. |
