Итог: | Beyond high-level meetings of clerics or scholars, where today does genuine Muslim-Christian dialogue take place? Despite tensions and prejudices in Belgian society, there are also spaces where ordinary Muslims and Catholics are able to meet and speak about faith in a significant way. Often, Catholic schools are providing these spaces. Prompted by the growing numbers of Muslim students in their midst, Catholic schools and universities in Belgium have responded by re-examining their mission and adopting new modes of religious education - notably, the dialogue-school model in Flanders. While such changes are challenging and have often provoked backlash, they could lead to a more authentic understanding of Catholic identity and mission in a diverse society. |
