Hebrew letters on the cover. šyr hšyrym, indicate the lopic: Song of Songs. Even as all articles are in Czech, this volume deserves the attention of other readers because of wide area of interests. Among twenty contributors are not only theologians and hebraists, rabbi and Protestant minister. but also philosophers, historians, bohemist, journalist, diplomat, poet, painter. Thus Song of Songs is presented and discussed from various viewpoints. In this volume some original observations and insights are contained. -- Also the biography of Milan Balabán containing data about his oppression under the communist regime deserves attention. In his bibliography beside many Czech publications also those in German, English and French are listed. |
