Description
Summary:The books of the Pentateuch, the historical books and the books of the prophets are the subject of countless publications. For the so-called Wisdom literature, on the other hand, the situation is very different. Admittedly, the last few years have seen the publication of important commentaries. However, the number of publications devoted to these texts is far less than those on the other Old Testament literary blocks. The purpose of this article is to support two hypotheses: according to the first, this situation is at least partly explained by the history of exegesis over the last 100 years, especially the hypotheses dating back to Julius Wellhausen. The second hypothesis concerns the question on which this thematic volume focus: if it is true that Wisdom is "at the crossroads of nations," it is also at the crossroads between Israelite traditions and those of other peoples.
