Description
Summary:With the international peace initiatives taken by the community of St. Egidio as a starting point, this article reflects on Karl Rahner's approach to ecumenism and interreligious dialogue and shows how Rahner's thinking on the topics developed. His experiences at the Second Vatican Council as well as later events in his biography deepened convictions laid down already in his »Geist in Welt« and led him to an approach that started with anthropology and religion's role in it before moving into concrete and diverse religious practices. In a final step the author asks how helpful and realistic Rahner's approach can still be in a world that has undergone a fundamental change in its varied expressions of religious expression.
