Description
Summary:The essay examines the role of the concepts of »nature«, »essence« or »substance« within theological anthropology. It investigates the approaches of the philosopher Gerhard Gamm and the Lutheran theologian Wolfgang Schoberth, and analyses, why the notion of a »human nature« is so widely criticized in contemporary debates. The paper argues that this critique is partly justified. Nevertheless, it holds that theological anthropology cannot exist without the notion of a »human nature« as a transcendental limiting concept.
