In journalism, such Christian art based on biblical motifs is used, even beyond the reporting on religion. This article shows how images and their meanings are being transformed both socio-culturally and historically. Thus, it becomes obvious how biblical material and characters provide a cultural repertoire of images in journalism. This will be illustrated with a case study, examining the motifs of creation on the covers and in the cover stories of Spiegel, Stern, and Bunte from 1949 to the present. |
