| Summary: | El presente artículo se propone como la respuesta una pregunta, a saber, ¿qué se estudia en Italia cuando se estudia el monacato medieval? El resultado es una breve pero exhaustiva contribución al tema que se ajusta a tres puntos centrales de la cuestión: la limitación temática, la límitación cronológica y los aspectos específicos de la investigación. Su objetivo general es, pues, iluminar los intereses historiográficos sobre los que se mueve la investigación medievística italiana de los últimos viente-treinta años; de ahí que se sólo analiza, salvo raras excepciones, la bibliografía sobre el tema producida entre la década de los 90´s del s. XX y la actualidad. El trabajo se divide en cinco partes: una primera sección introductoria, que da cuenta de sus objetivos y límites, y cuatro secciones dedicadas a enfatizar las rupturas y continuidades del monacato medieval en sentido amplio. Estas son “Dai longobardi alla “crisi” del Trecento: i momenti di svolto” (De los lombardos a la “crisis” del s. XIV: puntos de inflexión), “Le motevoli indentità del monachesimo medievale” (La cambiante identidad del monacato medieval), “La costruzione dello spazio monastico” (La construcción del espacio monástico) y “L´irrompere delle donne velate nella storiografia monastica” (La irrupción de las mujeres veladas en la historiografía monástica) This paper begins as the answer to a question, namely, what is studied in Italy when studying the medieval monasticism? The result is a brief but exhaustive contribution to the topic that fits three central points of the issue: thematic limitation, chronological limitation and specific aspects of the investigation. Its general objective is, therefore, to illuminate the historiographical interests on which Italian mediaevistic research of the last twenty-thirty years moves; hence, it is only analyzed, with rare exceptions, the bibliography on the subject produced between 1990 and the present. The work is divided into five parts: a first introductory section, which gives an account of its objectives and limits, and four sections dedicated to emphasizing the ruptures and continuities of the medieval monacato in a broad sense. These are "Dai longobardi alla "crisi"of the Trecento: i momenti di svolto" (From the Lombards to the "crisis" of the fourteenth century: inflection points), "Le motevoli indentità del monachesimo medievale" (The changing identity of the medieval monasticism), "La costruzione dello spazio monastico" (The construction of monastic space) and "L´irrompere delle donne velate nella storiografia monastica" (The irruption of veiled women in monastic historiography). |
