| Summary: | In questo studio si intende fornire alcuni spunti significativi concernenti le riflessioni dei più noti esponenti dei platonici di Cambridge, evidenziando elementi comuni fondamentali e allo stesso tempo identificativi, perché il lettore possa autonomamente approfondire lo studio delle opere di questi pensatori, fra i quali occorre menzionare Benjamin Whichcote, John Smith, Nathanael Culverwell, Ralph Cudworth e Henry More. Questi filosofi, infatti, meritano di essere riscoperti e riconsiderati nell’ottica di una più ampia valutazione storico-critico-teoretica rispetto al passato, superando alcuni pregiudizi interpretativi ancora diffusi. In this brief study I intend to provide some significant insights concerning the re-flections about the well-known exponents of the Cambridge Platonists, highlighting common and at the same time identifying elements, so that the reader can autono-mously deepen the study of the works of these thinkers, among which we must men-tion Benjamin Whichcote, John Smith, Nathanael Culverwell, Ralph Cudworth and Henry More. In fact, these philosophers deserve to be rediscovered and reconsidered with a view to a wider historical-critical-theoretical evaluation than in the past, over-coming some interpretative prejudices still widespread. |
