Summary: | This paper begins with a summary of a few of the highlights from recent research that shed light on our knowledge of human origins. These findings are interpreted in terms of the most plausible evolutionary scenario, the narrative account of the hominin lineage that experts have constructed in the attempt to make sense of our evolutionary past. In particular we ask how recent findings prompt changes in this interpretive account. Then in the second half of the paper, we ask how this revised story of our origins challenges and provokes new perspectives in Christian theology. |
