| Summary: | Os imigrantes ucranianos chegaram a Prudentópolis - PR no final do século XIX e naquela mesma época já vieram para o Brasil os primeiros padres da Ucrânia a pedido dos recém-chegados. Nesse artigo o objetivo é analisar como a atuação de padres, freiras e catequistas de origem ucraniana contribuiu para a manutenção de uma etno-cultura linguística e religiosa. No município os ucranianos que se instalaram eram católicos e a Igreja Ucraniana, devido ao seu rito, foi responsável em grande medida pela preservação da língua e, a partir do idioma, da construção da identidade. As fontes utilizadas foram entrevistas com membros do clero, bem como pessoas descendentes de imigrantes residentes no município. A análise realizada é que a Igreja, a partir da atuação do clero, é grande responsável pela preservação da língua e (re)construção da identidade. Ukrainian immigrants arrived in Prudentópolis -PR at the end of the19th century and, at the same time, the first priests fromUkraine came to Brazil at the request of the new arrivals. In this article, the objective is to analyze how the work of priests, nuns and catechists of Ukrainian origin contributed to the maintenance of a linguistic and religious ethnoculture. In the municipality, the Ukrainians who settled in were Catholics and the Ukrainian Church, due to its rite, was largely responsible for the preservation of the language and, from the language, for the construction of identity. The sources used were interviews with members of the clergy, as well as people descended from immigrants living in the municipality. The analysis carried out is that the Church, based on the work ofthe clergy, is largely responsible for the preservation of language and (re) construction of identity. Los inmigrantes ucranianos llegaron a Prudentópolis -PR a fines del siglo XIX y, al mismo tiempo, los primeros sacerdotes de Ucrania llegaron a Brasil a pedido de los recién llegados. En este artículo, el objetivo es analizar cómo la actuación de sacerdotes, monjas y catequistas de origen ucraniano contribuyó al mantenimiento de una etnocultura lingüística y religiosa. En el municipio, los ucranianos que se instalaron eran católicos y la Iglesia ucraniana, debidoa su rito, era en gran medida responsable de la preservación del idioma y, desde el idioma, la construcción de la identidad. Las fuentes utilizadas fueron entrevistas con miembros del clero, así como personas descendientes de inmigrantes que viven en el municipio. El análisis realizado es quela Iglesia, basada en el trabajo del clero, es en gran parte responsable de la preservación del lenguaje y (re) construcción de la identidad. |
