| Summary: | Changes and new beginnings are part of human life and human communities. The Roman Catholic Church evaluates these situations largely as a »failure« and reacts with exclusion. This article reflects on possible forms of failure and the corresponding reactions of the church under the perspective of canon law. In view of the reorientation and new approaches under Pope Francis this article also deals with the question whether the church should rethink and tread new paths in these matters if it is permitted by the church's faith and doctrines. A rethinking would then also lead to a modification of the existing canon law. |
