Description
Summary:This essay deals with the conditions of language acquisition in German universities. By law, it is required that as tudent who aims for a Master of Divinity must know Hebrew, Greek, and Latin before starting course work at university. However, most secondary schools in Germany do not possess a curriculum for Classical philology. Hence Faculties of Theology offer language courses which are more or less desintegrated into the study as a whole. The author discusses several aspects of this problem.
