总结:There is a broad consensus that neighborly love possesses an outstanding position as moral principle in Christian moral theology. This goes back certainly to its foundations in the Hebrew Bible and its importance within the origin-relation between Judaism and Christianity for Christian proclamation and practice. This is even enhanced decisively by the priority which is given to neighborly love in New Testament testimonials of the words and acts of Jesus Christ. Only the love of God reaches similar respectively at the same time superior significance. There is though a need for clarification first of the question how far neighborly love is a moral principle and how far other meanings - e. g. a soteriological and eschatological - go. Second the precise understanding of neighborly love must be studied. This article discusses the biblical foundations of neighborly love in order to address these questions.
