Description
Summary:Currently, the paradigm of a market-based economy confronts socio-critical projects with a precarious lack of alternatives. Considering a spiral of growing debt, even the Christian faith seems to lack any hope for salvation. In reference to Marx, Walter Benjamin and new sociological approaches, the analysis given explores the means by which theology can help make our globalized world a fairer place. Systematically, this analysis contrasts the capitalist debt-economy with a triune gift-economy, whose divine potential signifies a realistic perspective of liberating action for the poor in the world -a goal also expressed as a mission statement of the Church in Pope Francis' Evangelii gaudium.
