Should the Hebrew term "Sheol" be translated? And if so, which terms should be used? A study of the vocabulary associated with "sheol" for all occurrences of the term suggests that it is indeed a poetic designation of the tomb and, by extension, a metaphorical designation of death itself, involving the rites of passage associated with it. |
