In theresearch project “Characteristics of diaconal organization culture in a plural society”, employees of 33 diaconal German organizations of stationary care for the elderly as well as of working places for integration of handicapped people into the job market were interviewed about which cultural characteristics they considered as specifically important. The results show that for the employees a culture of respectful relation to residents, to each other and to the organization staff is considered to be especially important. The relevance of elements of religious culture is seen as depending on the religious needs of those receiving care. |
