Description
Summary:The article studies the beginnings of the piarist foundations and presences outside Italy, already from century XVII. It focuses mainly on the foundations in Central Europe (Bohemia and Moravia, Poland), initiated in the life of Calasanz and later. The foundation failed in Spain in Calasanz times is also mentioned. We especially emphasize the missionary dimension “ad gentes” of these presences, especially the Philippine presence in the eighteenth century by the Piarist priest Basilio Sancho, Archbishop of Manila and other places in Asia.
