| Summary: | The article deals with gendering beauty in the Hebrew Bible, which has several terms for beauty, not used in gender-specific manner. Men and women are beautiful, indicating functional adequatness. The problem of female beauty, often held as dangerous, is questioned: Dangerous for whom? For men or not more for women? But it deals also with beauty of a fullfilled life and the beauty of God. L´articolo tratta della bellezza nell’Antico Testamento e dei diversi termini in esso usati per descriverla, tanto in riferimento alla donna quanto all’uomo. Al centro dell’indagine non sta tanto la bellezza come qualità esteriore, ma la funzione che questa può svolgere. Viene affrontata anche la problematica della pericolosità della bellezza —sia per quel che concerne gli uomini che, soprattutto, per quel che riguarda le donne. Ci si occupa infine di cosa si intenda nella Bibbia per vita bella: una vita in cui ci si senta appagati, anche materialmente, e al tempostesso si possa godere appieno della bellezza divina. |
