It can be, therefore, surprising to find many authors that use expressions such as "economia francescana" or "Franciscan Economics". Somebody goes even further, claiming that Francis "invented" capitalism. Isn’t Francis the saint of poverty? One of the purposes of the present booklet is precisely to help its readers move beyond this understandable surprise and acquire a better understanding of a very complex phenomenon.
