Description
Summary:After explaining what beatification and canonisation are in the Catholic Church, the author presents a historical overview. It shows that, from an immediate and spontaneous veneration given to the first martyrs, the Church has arrived, through a progressive theological and legal development, at the current processes of beatification and canonisation which are long and complex procedures that make use of historical, theological, legal, and medical sciences.
