| Summary: | Discourse about the origin and development of the Neolithic on the Arabian Peninsula are generally based on two paradigms. Migration and acculturation are understood as incompatible processes that could not take place synchronously at the same historical event. Instead of persisting in this dichotomy, it will be demonstrated that both developments contributed to the emergence of the Arabian Neolithic. Gegenwärtige Vorstellungen über den Ursprung und die Entwicklung des Neolithikums auf der Arabischen Halbinsel basieren auf zwei Paradigmen. Migration und Akkulturation werden als zwei gegensätzliche Entwicklungen verstanden, welche nicht parallel auftreten können. Anstatt in diesem Gegensatz zu verharren, wird aufgezeigt, dass beide Prozesse zur Neolithisierung Arabiens beigetragen haben. |
