| Summary: | Después de haber tratado el tema del desenlace del discipulado de Simón Pedro a la luz de Jn 21,15-19 en anterior artículo, quedaba pendiente realizar lo propio con respecto al personaje del discípulo amado. La primera sección del epílogo del evangelio (Jn 21,1-14), asocia, en efecto, estas dos figuras que interactúan en sinergia para reconocer al Resucitado en su tercera manifestación. Y la finalidad de dicha manifestación consiste en proveer a las necesidades de la comunidad de discípulos en medio de los desafíos inéditos del tiempo post-pascual. El presente artículo desarrolla la especificidad del seguimiento del discípulo amado (Jn 21,20-24) que, junto con el de Pedro, constituirá parte fundamental de esa provisión necesaria para la vida y misión de la naciente Iglesia. Aquí indagaremos, pues, lo que "vio" Pedro con mirar penetrante e intuitivo (Jn 21,20) en el discípulo amado, su sentido y el rol que juega en beneficio de su propio discipulado y del resto de los discípulos que le han sido confiados. Having dealt in the previous article the issue on the outcome of Simon Peter’s discipleship in the light of John 21: 15-19, it remained to do the same with regard the character of the beloved disciple. The first section of the epilogue of the Gospel (John 21: 1-14) precisely associates these two figures that interact in synergy to recognize the Risen One in his third manifestation whose purpose is to provide for the needs of the community of disciples in the midst of the unprecedented challenges of post-Easter time. This article develops the specificity of the closer following of the beloved disciple (John 21: 20-24) which, together with that of Peter’s, will constitute a fundamental part of that provision necessary for life and mission of a dawning Church. In this sense, here we will investigate what Peter “saw” with a penetrative and intuitive look at the person of the beloved disciple (John 21: 20), his sense and the role he plays for the benefit of his own discipleship and the rest of the disciples entrusted to him. |
