| Итог: | Autonomie ist ein ethisch zentraler wie strittiger Begriff. Er ist in der Moderne mit dem Status des Menschen als Person und den Menschenrechten innerlich verknüpft. Das Verhältnis der katholischen Theologie und Kirche zur Moderne entscheidet sich darum ganz wesentlich an der Wertschätzung von Autonomie in ihren drei Aspekten: Autonomie der Moral, Autonomie der Person und Autonomie des Individuums. Das Konfliktpotential des Anspruchs auf Selbstbestimmung wird deutlich im Blick auf einzelne Fragen der angewandten Ethik. Dabei zeigt sich, dass Autonomie weder ignoriert noch isoliert werden darf, wenn es um die Bearbeitung komplexer moralischer Fragen geht. Autonomie ist das Zentrum der Ethik, aber nicht ihr Ganzes. In ethical terms, the notion of autonomy is both essential and controversial. In the modern period, it is substantially linked to human rights and the status of human beings as persons. The appreciation of autonomy in its three aspects, the autonomy of morality, the autonomy of the person as well as the autonomy of the individual, is crucial for the relationship between the Catholic Church and modernity. Taking into account particular questions in the field of applied ethics, the claim for self-determination reveals its potential for conflict. This reflects the necessity neither to ignore nor to segregate the term of autonomy from any treatment of moral questions. Autonomy constitutes the centre of ethics, though not its entirety. |
