| Riepilogo: | Partizipation und demokratische Strukturen bilden den Markenkern der Jugendverbände in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Auch die im Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ) organisierten Verbände und Organisationen sind diesen Prinzipien verpflichtet und bringen dieses Proprium aktiv in Kirche ein. Darin unterscheiden sie sich von dem, was andernorts unter „Katholischer Aktion“ verstanden wird und die bis heute in Deutschland nie so recht Fuß fassen konnte. Katholische Jugendarbeit steht damit in der Tradition der Jugendbewegung des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Der folgende Beitrag zeichnet nach, wie sich der Gedanke der Partizipation in den katholischen Jugendverbänden entwickelt hat und wie er weiterzudenken wäre. Participation and democratic structures form the essence of youth associations in the Federal Republic of Germany. The associations organized in the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ; Union of German Catholic Youth) are also committed to these principles and actively contribute this proprium to the Church. Here, they differ from what elsewhere is understood as “Catholic Action,“ which to date has never really gained a foothold in Germany. Catholic youth work thus stands in the tradition of the youth movement of the early 20th century. This contribution traces how the idea of participation developed in the Catholic youth associations and how it could be shaped in the future. |
