| Summary: | Das gegenwärtige Pontifikat betreibt den Ökumenismus pragmatisch und mit ethischem Schwerpunkt. Gleichwohl bleibt die Klärung der Frage nach den fundamentaltheologischen (offenbarungstheoretischen) und dogmatischen (ekklesiologischen) Fundamenten von Kirchenordnung und Kirchenrecht für die begründete Erklärung von sichtbarer Einheit unabdingbar. Differenzen bestehen hier nicht nur zwischen reformatorischer und römisch-katholischer Theologie, sondern auch innerhalb der letzteren. Sie reichen - das zeigt die systematische Analyse von drei jüngeren römisch-katholischen Veröffentlichungen zum Thema - von unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen über die methodische Fortsetzung des Bemühens um Erreichung eines „differenzierten Konsensen“ über Einzelfragen bis zu einer (jetzt auch römisch-katholischen!) grundsätzlichen Infragestellung der „Konsenspapierökumene“ zugunsten einer Klärung des „Grunddissens“ zwischen katholischer und evangelischer Christentumsauffassung und Denkform im ganzen. Keine der Positionen hat ein angemessenes Verständnis von Ansatz und Pointe reformatorischer Theologie erreicht. Dringend ist also, dass evangelische Theologie deutlicher als bisher zeigt: Das reformatorische Verständnis von Offenbarung und Glaube hat präzise Konsequenzen für das reformatorische Verständnis der sichtbaren Kirche (von Kirchenordnung und Kirchenrecht). The current Roman pontiff pursues ecumenism with a pragmatic and ethical emphasis. Nevertheless, clarification of the fundamental theological issues concerning the understanding of revelation and of the dogmatic (ecclesiological) bases of church order and of ecclesiastical law remain an indispensable requirement for the justified declaration of visible unity. There are not only differences between the theology of the churches of the Reformation and Roman-Catholic theology but also within the latter. The systematic analysis of three recent Roman-Catholic publications on ecumenism reveals that these divergence extend not only to individual questions of the method of how a “differentiated consensus” can be reached, but also to a fundamental questioning of consensus ecumenism over against a clarification of the “fundamental dissensus” between the Roman-Catholic and a Protestant understanding of Christianity and their distinctive thought forms. None of these positions has achieved an appropriate understanding of the fundamental approach and the distinctive tenets of Reformation theology. It is therefore an urgent task that Protestant theology succeeds in showing more clearly than up to now that the view of revelation and faith in Reformation theology has specific and precise implications of the understanding of the visible church (of church order and ecclesiastical law). |
