Description
Summary:F. A. M. Wiggermann has argued, on the pages of this Journal, for the reading /lagar/ of the signs SAL.ḪÚB. He considers this word to be a synonym of Sumerian sukkal, traditionally rendered as "vizier." In view of the limited distribution of SAL.ḪÚB. which is rare and occurs only in specific contexts, one can propose that it is not a synonym of sukkal, but an alternative writing of the word.
