Summary:This article presents new evidence about the life of Ovadiah Sforno, Renaissance Italy's best-known Jewish Bible commentator. It includes a transcription and diplomatic edition of the final version of his last will and testament, along with an English translation. A short prefatory study explains aspects of Sforno's family life that were previously unknown. A final appendix lists over 150 notarial documents from Bologna's State Archive that concern Ovadiah Sforno and his family.
