| Summary: | The Church is a central issue for the personal reflection and for the official teaching of Paul VI. The article illustrates some aspects of his vision of the Church, taking inspiration from the opening address of the second period of Vatican II (29 September 1963). The four questions proposed by the pope - the conscience of the Church, the reform, the search for Christian unity and the dialogue with the world - do not only set the agenda for the future work of the Council, but also offer a possible key for understanding Paul VI ecclesiology and suggest at the same time the priorities laying under the reforms set up during the pontificate. La chiesa è tema centrale nella riflessione personale e nel magistero di Paolo VI. L’articolo espone alcuni aspetti della visione montiniana della chiesa prendendo spunto dal discorso di apertura del secondo periodo del Vaticano II (29 settembre 1963). Le quattro questioni proposte dal papa - la coscienza della chiesa, la riforma, la questione dell’unità dei cristiani e il dialogo con il mondo - non definiscono soltanto l’agenda per la prosecuzione dei lavori conciliari, ma offrono anche una possibile chiave interpretativa della concezione della chiesa di Paolo VI e suggeriscono al tempo stesso le priorità soggiacenti all’azione riformatrice da lui dispiegata nel corso del pontificato. |
