| Summary: | Quality TV is a fictional serial format, which is characterized by a particularly high level of complexity. The depicted characters are multi-layered and authentic. Therefore, they are very suitable as starting points for so-called Parasocial Interactions (PSI) and Parasocial Relationships (PSR). These concepts describe the human willingness to enter into short-term or long-term commitments with unattainable individuals or nonexistent beings. In addition to various research results on this topic, this article also presents selected results from two new studies. These address the issues of how important it is for the public to experience PSR in relation to other aspects of Quality TV, and whether this increases their acceptance of ethically questionable behavior. Bei Quality TV handelt es sich um fiktionale Serienformate, die sich durch besonders hohe Komplexität auszeichnen. Die dort dargestellten Figuren sind vielschichtig und authentisch. Daher bieten sie sich in besonderer Weise als Anknüpfungspunkte für sogenannte parasoziale Interaktionen (PSI) und parasoziale Beziehungen (PSB) an. Damit wird die menschliche Bereitschaft beschrieben, mit unerreichbaren Personen oder inexistenten Wesen kurz- oder langfristige Bindungen einzugehen. Dieser Beitrag stellt neben diversen Forschungsergebnissen zu dieser Thematik auch ausgewählte Resultate von zwei neuen Studien vor. Diese setzen sich mit den Fragen auseinander, wie wichtig dem Publikum das Erleben von PSB im Verhältnis zu anderen Aspekten von Quality TV ist und ob dadurch die Zustimmung zu ethisch bedenklichen Verhaltensweisen zunimmt. |
