Description
Summary:This article contains the opening plenary address of the 2019 annual meeting of the American Society of Missiology. Its title leaves open the possibility that Ron Sider is talking about people rather than his book, Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger. But, indeed, his address was more about the book than rich Christians themselves, although they remain present in the wings, just off-stage. Dr. Sider's controversial, landmark book was published in 1977. This article describes the author's 40 years of experience vis-à-vis the book that launched and marked his "career" as an advocate for evangelical social engagement.
