| Summary: | En este estudio se reconstruye el itinerario vital de dos volúmenes confeccionados en época medieval en la ciudad de Sevilla, el Libro Blanco de la catedral y el Tumbo del concejo, llamando la atención sobre el fenómeno cultural que representan en el cambio de la concepción que del cartulario se va teniendo a lo largo del tiempo. Códices que nacieron con una clara función y que, poco después, dejan de ser herramientas al servicio de sus instituciones para convertirse en objetos de lujo, sometidos a la compraventa, al mismo tiempo que fuentes para hacer historia, aun cuando sus textos seguían siendo vinculantes desde un punto de vista jurídico. Estos libros irán pasando de mano en mano, a través de algunos de los personajes más destacados del mundo de la cultura y la política del Siglo de Oro y el Siglo de las Luces españoles. In this study we reconstruct the vital itinerary of two volumes made in medieval times in the city of Seville, the Libro Blanco of the cathedral and the Tumbo de la Ciudad, while calling attention to the cultural phenomenon they represent as change in the conception that cartulary is having over time. Codices that were born with a clear function and that, shortly after, cease to be tools at the service of their institutions to become objects of luxury, subject to the sale, and at the same time sources to make history, even though their texts remained binding from a point of legal view. These books will go from hand to hand, through some of the most prominent people in the world of culture and politics of the Spanish Golden Age and Age of Enlightenment. |
