Description
Summary:Aloysius Pieris is one of the few theologians who argued for a multilingualism of theology and thus he did combine very early the concerns of different models of contextual theology: liberation theology, inculturation theology and dialogue theology. This article deals with his Christology as »Christus-Sutra« as an example for a twofold contextualization of theology: A material one with regard to the context of poverty and religious plurality in (Southeast)-Asia and a formal one concerning the conception of dogmas in this context. In both regards, his approach corresponds to the pastoral orientation of Vatican II and the constitutive significance of the "world" for the self-understanding of the church.
