| Summary: | The vocabulary for mercy and compassion, ἔλεος and οἰκτιρμός, is not found in the Apocalypse. God's plan of salvation is, however, an expression of divine mercy. This article examines the visions in chapter 7 of the Apocalypse to reveal how the author develops the question of God's mercy by means of the symbols and images contained in the visions. Le vocabulaire de la miséricorde et de la compassion, ἔλεος et οἰκτιρμός, ne se retrouve pas dans l'Apocalypse. Cependant, Dieu manifeste sa miséricorde dans son plan de salut. Cet article étudie les visions du chapitre 7 de l'Apocalypse afin de montrer comment l'auteur du livre développe la question de la miséricorde divine au moyen des symboles et des images contenus dans les visions. |
