For Hugo Rahner, patrology, spirituality, and pastoral practice are inextricably linked to each other. He did research on patristic texts and church history not only out of historical interest, but also from a practical-spiritual and pastoral perspective. Thusly, Hugo Rahner became a pioneer of practical theology. |
