Description
Summary:Throughout the centuries, Christian Art has represented Christ according to a series of features in which the theology and spirituality of each epoch are reflected. In this paper we go from the earliest Christian representations of Christ as the Good Shepherd and Philosopher up to the present day, through the Christ in majesty of the Romanesque style, the suffering Christ of the Gothic, the perfectus Deus and perfectus homo of the Renaissance, the triumphant Christ characteristic of the post-Tridentine Baroque, and 19th century historicism.
