The celebration of the Eucharist, in turn, holds together the complex iconographic programme which, although affected by the continual variations attributable to a certain emphasis on the charism of Francis and the Franciscan Order, and although with some later 'devotional' relaxation, finds the its unity in the communion of saints, or in the permanent sacramental realization of the one Church, celestial and terrestrial, which presided over by the Risen One and animated by his Spirit of holiness, is on the way to the Father.
