| Summary: | O artigo recolhe e apresenta textos da "Voz do Pastor", de Dom Vicente Scherer, que foram publicados em rádio e jornais de Porto Alegre com o objetivo de dar a conhecer a participação do arcebispo metropolitano de Porto Alegre na II Conferência de Medellín em 1968. Nas diversas alocuções, o futuro Cardeal conduz a uma interpretação centrada nos aspectos mais originais de Medellín, aomesmo tempo sublinhando sua novidade e cuidando dos riscos de interpretações inadequadas dos documentos. Isso leva o arcebispo a discernir, estimular à ação eficaz, sem radicalismo de ideologias, sobretudo em relação à busca de transformações sociais com o uso de violência. The article collects and presents texts of the “Voice of the Pastor”, by Dom Vicente Scherer, published in radio and newspapers of Porto Alegre, in order to make known the participation of the metropolitan archbishop of Porto Alegre in the Medellín Conference in 1968. In the various interventions, the future Cardinal leads to an interpretation focused on the most original aspects of Medellín, while emphasizing its novelty and taking care of the risks of inadequate interpretations of the documents. This leads the archbishop to discern, stimulate effective action, without radicalism of ideologies, especially in relation to the search for social changes with the use of violence. |
