Description
Summary:I briefly clarify essential phenomenological features that any metaphysical theory of the possibility of an individual life after death has to take into account. I distinguish between materialism and dualism and argue that on both, life after death in principle is possible. Once this is done, I analyse philosophical and theological challenges to the respective models of life after death. I end by arguing that dualism and materialism have to be embedded into greater theological worldviews to be able to overcome the problems they face. Such theological worldviews are based on the acceptance of the articles of faith as sources that show the legitimacy to see reality from a particular faith-based point of view.
