| Summary: | Cet article met en lumière l'engagement politique d'un petit nombre de rabbins français membres des consistoires en Algérie coloniale pendant la deuxième moitié du xixe siècle : promotion de l'émancipation politique et de l'intégration de la minorité juive, interventions en faveur de l'application de la législation française malmenée par certaines pratiques arbitraires de l'administration coloniale, lutte confidentielle contre l'antisémitisme pendant la « crise anti-juive » de la fin du siècle. This article highlights the political commitment of some French rabbis who were members of the consistories in colonial Algeria during the second half of the 19th century : promotion of political emancipation and the integration of the Jewish minority, interventions in favour of the application of French legislation maltreated by certain arbitrary practices of the colonial administration, and the confidential fight against anti-Semitism during the "anti-Jewish crisis" at the end of the century. |
