| Summary: | In this article the authors' analyse starting from an actual case the repercussions of social conflict, in the religious sphere. The theoretical aspect of the work is aimed at showing how the sphere of religion both translates and transforms the political ideologies of conflicting groups. This leads on to an analysis of religious ideologies to indicate how groups use the sphere of religion according to their political interests.In the. course of the article the authors' demonstrate how the process of discussion is in fact an occasion of conflict, produced and used according to the positions occupied by the groups concerned both in the fields, of religion and politics. Understanding of these situations requires an analysis of symbolic. systems combined with a sociological theory of power. |
