| Summary: | This article aims at outlining St. Josemaría's use of the Latin expression opus Dei in light of the preceding tradition. The term's semantic field was formed in Patristic biblical commentaries; it then underwent important development in monastic tradition and finally made its way into various areas of theological culture in the modern age. St. Josemaría uses the expression both in continuity and in discontinuity with this preceding tradition. Este artículo pretende exponer el uso que san Josemaría hizo de la expresión latina opus Dei a la luz de la tradición que le precede. El campo semántico de la expresión se formó a partir de los comentarios bíblicos patrísticos, conoció un importante desarrollo en la tradición monástica y alcanzó diversos ámbitos de la cultura teológica en la época moderna. La expresión en san Josemaría se presenta en continuidad y discontinuidad con esta tradición. |
