| Summary: | L’Assemblée de Medellin a été une véritable révolution dans l’Église latino-américaine. Les évêques y ont mis l’Église sur le chemin de l’option pour les pauvres, de la formation des Communautés ecclésiales de base (CEB), d’une pastorale de transformation de l’Église et de la société, et la théologie de la libération l’a suivie. Cela a porté ses fruits et, après un moment de repli sur soi-même, l’Église du continent retrouve la perspective et les intuitions de cette assemblée au moment de célébrer ses 50 ans. De tout nouveaux défis se posent à l’heure actuelle à l’action de l’Église, et celle-ci doit les relever selon sa propre manière d’être. Le Pape François joue un rôle important ici, puisqu’il vient de ce continent et porte, en lui et dans son projet pastoral, les marques constitutives de l’Église latino-américaine. The Assembly of Medellin was a real revolution in the Latin American Church. The bishops gathered there put the Church on the path of the option for the poor, the formation of the CEB, a pastoral of transformation of the Church and society, and the theology of liberation has followed. This has borne fruit and, after a moment of withdrawal, the Church of the continent is renewing with the perspective and the intuitions of this assembly as it celebrates its 50 years. New challenges are now being faced by the Church, and it must face them with its own way of being. Pope Francis plays an important role here, because he comes from this continent and carries in himself and in his pastoral project the marks that constitute the Latin-American Church. |
