| Summary: | The article points out and exemplifies to what extent the large German and European Studies on Confirmation Work provide important insights into the current situation of this educational practice. Beyond, it is shown that the studies contribute in a manifold sense to a better understanding of the challenges and yet not fulfilled requirements of dealing with adolescentsʼ religious attitudes and interests, their relation to the Church and their willingness to engage voluntarily within and outside the Church. Der Artikel streicht heraus und veranschaulicht beispielhaft, inwiefern die umfangreichen Bundesweiten und Europäischen Studien zur Konfirmandenarbeit wichtige Einsichten in die gegenwärtige Situation dieses kirchlichen Bildungsangebots liefern. Darüber hinaus wird darauf hingewiesen, dass diese Studien in vielfältigem Sinn dazu beitragen, die Herausforderungen und bisher nicht eingelösten Erfordernisse besser zu verstehen, die mit den religiösen Einstellungen und Interessen Jugendlicher, ihrer Beziehung zur Kirche sowie ihrer Bereitschaft zum freiwilligen Engagement innerhalb und außerhalb der Kirche verbunden sind. |
