Resumo: | 1 Timothy 2.11-15 is prevalently misread to sanction blanket dismissal of female teachers and preachers in the Church. This article reconsiders these verses in light of Paul's expressed aims in writing to suggest a reading that takes its Ephesian address fully into account. In so doing, it offers the most theologically responsible interpretation of verse 15, one of the most troubling and perplexing verses in the biblical canon. |
